I heard of this thing called Nihilistic art and I don't really understand how art can be nihilistic. I understand artist can believe that the "destruction of existing political or social institutions is necessary for future improvement," but don't see that this would make art nihilistic. Especially given the philosophical definition, which is an extreme form of skepticism that denies all existence or a doctrine holding that all values are baseless and that nothing can be known or communicated.
It's art a from of communication. Aren't artist trying to communicate something though their art.
